INFLCR Road Trip: Scouting Best Practices

The INFLCR customer success team hit the road this fall, traversing the country to support some fantastic institutions using the INFLCR product. During their travels, they’ve uncovered some creative ways schools have invested in helping their student-athletes build their NIL brands.

Here is a round-up of what they have seen on the road:

School: Ohio State

Campus Visit: NIL Partnerships Specialist Peyton St. George and Sean Kelly, a Senior Product Success Manager, joined the OSU Career + NIL event, a gathering of job recruiters, businesses interested in NIL opportunities (including INFLCR partner MOGL), OSU’s collective – Cohesion Foundation, and school administrators. There were about 150 student-athletes in attendance seeking to connect with businesses and learn more about NIL.

Hot Tip: OSU created business cards for their student-athletes with their INFLCR unique link, contact information, and social media handles listed.

All-Star: OSU has hired Logan Hittle to oversee all NIL activity for its student-athletes. Logan was a walk-on for the OSU football team so he brings a great perspective to his new role. Logan is discovering creative ways to support student-athletes.

School: Colorado

Campus Visit:  Sean Kelly was back at it with Customer Success Manager Shan Lee as they visited the University of Colorado campus in tandem with our partners at Meta. This dream team hosted open office hours for student-athletes, providing a live resource for any questions about INFLCR and Meta. Next up was presenting at the Buffs with a Brand meeting to over 110 student-athletes seeking to better understand how to build their social presence and leverage their audience in NIL deals. The visit culminated at a business happy hour for over 30 businesses/donors who were interested in learning more about how they can work with CU’s student-athletes

Hot Tip: CU created branded koozies and coasters that are placed in hospitality suites for all home games to promote the exchange; the coasters have the QR code on them, driving directly to the CU Exchange.

All-Star: Jaida Drame, CU Track Star, and Grad student, created a clothing line of hoodies and activewear that she debuted at NYC fashion week. Her design skills and blazing speed captured the attention of Fowler Automotive to participate in an NIL deal. Jaida and other CU athletes participated in a photo shoot that featured her clothing line, Drame Apparel.

School: Duke

Campus Visit: Duke hosted a mini-NIL Summit for their student-athletes. INFLCR partners MoneyLion, Digisign & Meta were also in attendance to connect and educate the audience. During this two-day event, student-athletes could visit with vendors and listen to panel discussions and educational programming on how they can maximize their NIL brands. The INFLCR team provided 1:1 sessions with student-athletes, helping to navigate their INFLCR app to maximize their features and benefits.

Hot Tip: Duke set up on-campus content stations with green screens, prompts, and balloons to encourage student-athletes to showcase their personalities and create content.

All-Stars: Duke track athlete Emily Cole was featured on a panel discussing her book, the Players’ Plate, which she has been promoting using her NIL.

School: North Carolina

Campus Visit: UNC hosted a business and student-athlete networking event to kick off the school year. Student-athletes, local businesses and charities in the Chapel Hill community and NIL vendors came together to connect and network in the Blue Zone at Kenan Stadium. Senior Manager for Product Success Brad Pottieger and Sean Kelly from the INFLCR/Teamworks team attended to ensure student-athletes logged in to both the INFLCR and Teamworks apps. The duo also provided app demos and answered real-time questions while navigating the platforms.

Hot Tip:  This event was included in the back-to-school programming for student-athletes, allowing freshmen and transfers to connect with teammates and business members as they acclimated to their new homes.

All-Star: Kara Cannizzaro, a well-decorated lacrosse player and coach from UNC, led the event organization while executing her vision of bringing businesses and athletes together in one setting to maximize NIL opportunities.
