Pitt Basketball Partners with INFLCR to Build Student-Athlete Brands

INFLCR is excited to partner with University of Pittsburgh Athletics on a multi-year agreement to empower student-athletes to build their personal brands on social media.

Pitt basketball players, coaches, staff and other brand ambassadors will gain access to thousands of photos, videos and graphics produced by Pitt Athletics and national media-outlets and delivered through the INFLCR software and mobile app, to share on their personal social-media channels.

INFLCR now serves more than 100 NCAA collegiate athletic programs, representing more than 700 teams and more than 30,000 athletes. INFLCR serves programs in every FBS conference. Pitt is the latest from the Atlantic Coast Conference to join the INFLCR family.

“We are thrilled to announce a partnership between our basketball teams and INFLCR, the leader in social media and branding for student-athletes,” said Executive Associate AD Chris Hoppe.

“Pitt Athletics is committed to providing a student-athlete experience that empowers and educates student-athletes on their personal brand and the impact their social media can have on the world around them. This unique partnership will provide the content delivery, data analytics and most importantly education to enhance our student-athletes’ social media presence as well as continuing to elevate the brand of Pitt Basketball.”

The Pitt men’s basketball program will also be a pilot participant in INFLCR’s new NIL Data Services suite to set the stage for Pitt to be prepared for a new era in college sports around Name, Image, & Likeness opportunities for student-athletes.

“Name, Image and Likeness is such an important topic in college athletics right now,” said head coach Jeff Capel.

“We are excited to collaborate with industry leader INFLCR as we continue to build the Pitt Basketball brand as well as provide our student-athletes with every possible resource to develop their own personal brands. This partnership, with the training sessions and the full data analytics package INFLCR offers, is going to allow our student-athletes to maximize their influence on a variety of social media platforms and become terrific story tellers for the University of Pittsburgh, Pitt Basketball, their teammates and themselves.”

The new Data Services offering from INFLCR is the first of several products that the company will be rolling out as part of an innovative NIL Suite. Data Services combines custom reporting with digital education and content consulting for student-athletes, coaches, and the athletic program social media accounts.

“We are excited to work with Pitt Athletics to empower their student-athletes to build their personal brands while competing for championships in the ACC,” INFLCR founder and CEO Jim Cavale said.

“The INFLCR app will streamline content-delivery for the staff so that the student-athletes have the access they need to tell their story and grow their audience into a marketable opportunity. At the same time, our Data Services suite will empower the Pitt coaching staff with data that helps them recruit in this new era.”

How It Works

INFLCR’s platform helps clients like the University of Pittsburgh send internal media and national photography content to personalized galleries for each of their athletes, coaches and other brand ambassadors.

Those athletes and brand ambassadors are able to access their content galleries through the INFLCR mobile app, and can then share the content to their personal social media accounts.

After the fact, Pitt is able to measure the increased audience engagement coming from the much-larger collective audience of those athletes and brand ambassadors.

Pitt plans to use this approach to bolster their online presence in a way that affects event attendance, recruiting, fundraising, and other strategic goals.
