EKU Athletics extends INFLCR partnership

Eastern Kentucky University Athletics and INFLCR are extending their partnership with a multi-year, multi-team agreement to empower Colonel student-athletes with content to build their personal brands on social media.

EKU student-athletes, coaches, and staff in Football, Men’s Basketball and Softball will continue to gain access to photos, videos and graphics created by EKU Athletics and delivered through the INFLCR platform and mobile app, to share on their personal social-media channels.

“We’re excited to continue our partnership with INFLCR,” Assistant Athletics Director for Communications and Branding Kevin Britton said.

“Our EKUSports Communications team produces outstanding content.  INFLCR allows us to get that content into the hands of our student-athletes, helping build their personal brand while also expanding the reach of Eastern Kentucky University and EKUSports to an even larger audience.  It is our intention to grow this partnership with additional Colonel teams in the future.”

INFLCR now serves representatives from every NCAA Football Bowl Subdivision conference and several top Football Championship Subdivision programs, delivering content for more than 700 teams to more than 23,000 daily-active user athletes.

EKU’s 128 active athletes in three sports logged more than 18,000 sessions in the INFLCR app in 2019-20 to view more than 21,000 pieces of content uploaded by the EKU Athletics staff. This content was organized and distributed by INFLCR’s Artificial-Intelligence powered technology into personalized galleries for each athlete, making it easy for them to share to their personal social-media channels.

EKU Athletes downloaded/shared more than 4,600 photos and videos in 2019-20, and reached a cumulative social-media audience of 120,000 unique followers.

“From the start, Eastern Kentucky student-athletes have been power-users of the INFLCR app to access content to tell their stories on social media,” INFLCR founder and CEO Jim Cavale said. “We look forward to building on this success together to help them grow both their personal brands and to expand the reach of EKU Athletics.”

How It Works

INFLCR’s platform helps clients like Eastern Kentucky University send internal media and national photography content to personalized galleries for each of their athletes, coaches and other brand ambassadors.

Those athletes and brand ambassadors are able to access their content galleries through the INFLCR mobile app, and can then share the content to their personal social media accounts.

After the fact, Eastern Kentucky is able to measure the increased audience engagement coming from the much-larger collective audience of those athletes and brand ambassadors.

EKU plans to use this approach to bolster their online presence in a way that impacts event attendance, recruiting, fundraising, and other strategic goals.
