Virginia Tech Joins INFLCR with Athletic-Wide, Multi-Year Partnership

INFLCR is excited to welcome Virginia Tech to the family with a multi-year, athletic-department-wide partnership.

Student-athletes, alumni, coaches, and staff from all of the Hokies’ men’s and women’s varsity teams will gain access to personalized INFLCR mobile app gallery of photos, videos and graphics created by Virginia Tech Athletics Staff and other external media outlets who cover Virginia Tech Athletics.

This content is delivered through the INFLCR software and mobile app in real-time, for these Virginia Tech brand ambassadors to access and share on their personal social-media channels.

“In the dynamic landscape of intercollegiate athletics, INFLCR is a real game changer! It enables us to quickly and easily get images into the hands of our student-athletes and coaches, and in turn out through their social media accounts to help tell the story of Virginia Tech Athletics,” said Senior Director of Photography and Design Dave Knachel.

“INFLCR has shown a unique ability to put the ability to tell stories in the hands of our student-athletes and we are excited to incorporate their platform into our overall brand strategy,” said Senior Associate Athletic Director of External Operations Brad Wurthman.

“We’re already seeing positive results and we have only started our process of incorporating this solution into our brand platform.”

Virginia Tech is the newest INFLCR client from the Atlantic Coast Conference and yet another Teamworks client to sign an athletics-wide agreement with INFLCR since an October 2019 announcement that Teamworks had made a major investment in the Birmingham, Ala.-based company.

Several of the Hokies’ athletics teams have already been activated on the INFLCR platform and app, seeing immediate buy-in from student-athletes. Combined, the Hokies men and women’s soccer teams have downloaded and shared 750 pieces of content, with the Hokies’ baseball team logging 15 app sessions per athlete since activation.

Following the Hokies’ appearance in the 2019 Belk Bowl, 85 student-athletes logged on to the INFLCR app to share their experiences from the game, downloading 375 individual pieces of content.

“We knew from the jump that partnering with INFLCR was important for a number of reasons,” said Associate Athletic Director of Marketing & Fan Development Lauren Belisle.

“The platform allows us to easily and efficiently share content with our student-athletes and brand ambassadors, and we’re excited for the metrics and return of doing so. Our brand is at the forefront of all of our decisions and partnering with INFLCR is pivotal to growing and sharing it.”

INFLCR now serves more than 500 teams and more than 17,000 athletes from all levels of the NCAA.

“Virginia Tech is a storied athletics brand in the ACC, and we’re thrilled to be seeing such great results from their student-athletes on the INFLCR app and on social media,” said INFLCR CEO Jim Cavale. “We’re excited to continue delivering value to Hokies athletics for years to come.”

How It Works

INFLCR’s platform helps clients like Virginia Tech send internal media and national photography content to personalized galleries for each of their athletes, coaches and other brand ambassadors.

Those athletes and brand ambassadors are able to access their content galleries through the INFLCR mobile app, and can then share the content to their personal social media accounts.

After the fact, Virginia Tech is able to measure the increased audience engagement coming from the much-larger collective audience of those athletes and brand ambassadors.

Virginia Tech plans to use this approach to bolster their online presence in a way that impacts event attendance, recruiting, fundraising, and other strategic goals.
