Michigan State and INFLCR Announce Multi-Sport Partnership Following March Madness Success

The INFLCR team is very excited to announce a multi-sport partnership with Michigan State! Michigan State joins several Big Ten schools in putting their creative content into the hands of their student-athletes, who can then share that content and promote Spartan athletics on social media.

“Michigan State men’s basketball had the opportunity to use INFLCR during our run to the 2019 Final Four. We saw first-hand that our student-athletes jumped at the opportunity to share their photos and provide their own take on a special moment in their career,” said Matt Larson, Michigan State Associate AD for Communications.

“As a result of our activation with INFLCR, we saw an increase in engagement with our fan base, while also experiencing growth in both the team accounts and for the student-athletes.

Perhaps most importantly, the student-athletes were able to represent themselves and the university with great class in a genuine and authentic manner.

We are excited to bring that success to some of our other programs across the department this year. The student-athlete is at the heart of everything we do at Michigan State Athletics.

We have amazing student-athletes, each one with their own unique story to tell. INFLCR provides the tools to help tell those stories, including giving the student-athletes the opportunity to tell them in their own voice.”

The Spartans’ men’s basketball team activated with the INFLCR platform during the 2019 NCAA Basketball Tournament, downloading and sharing over 200 unique pieces of content over the course of their highly successful run in the tournament.

Those posts reached an aggregated audience of over 200,000 people, helping to grow the Spartan brand and connecting their fan base to the team’s success on the court.

“The Spartans have a phenomenal tradition in all sports, and their communications team produces a great deal of dynamic content around each of those sports. This multi-sport partnership will empower Michigan State’s student-athletes with great content to build their personal brands on social media, while also representing and promoting the brand of Michigan State athletics,” said INFLCR founder and CEO Jim Cavale.

“Can’t wait to see what lies ahead! We’re excited to become a part of the Spartans’ strong storytelling tradition.”

How It Works

INFLCR’s platform helps clients like Michigan State send internal media and national photography content to personalized galleries for each of their athletes, coaches and other brand ambassadors.

Those athletes and brand ambassadors are able to access their content galleries through the INFLCR mobile app, and can then share the content to their personal social media accounts.

After the fact, Michigan State is able to measure the increased audience engagement coming from the much-larger collective audience of those athletes and brand ambassadors.

Michigan State plans to use this approach to bolster their online presence in a way that impacts event attendance, recruiting, fundraising, and other strategic goals.
