INFLCR, NBA G League's Texas Legends announce partnership

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — Influencer (INFLCR) founder and CEO Jim Cavale announced the signing of the Texas Legends as the company’s first NBA G League client.

“We are excited to partner with INFLCR and continue to expand our social footprint,” said Malcolm K. Farmer, president and general manager of the Texas Legends.

“We believe strongly in supporting our players not only while they are Legends players, but also after they have been ‘called up’ to the NBA, taken lucrative overseas opportunities, or even have retired from basketball and moved on to the next phase of their life – all reasons that we are launching this partnership with INFLCR.”

The INFLCR content delivery software platform helps clients like the Legends distribute their internally-curated content into personalized galleries on each of the mobile devices of their athletes, coaches and other brand ambassadors, for them to access and share via their personal social-media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

The Legends can then use their INFLCR dashboard and usage reports to track their “audience lift” via the much-larger collective audience of those brand ambassadors.

Founded in 2017, INFLCR now serves pro sports clients in the G NBA League and United Soccer League as well as collegiate clients from the ACC, SEC, Big Ten, Big 12, American, Mountain West, Conference USA and Sun Belt conferences. Among its college clients are college basketball powerhouses such as Kentucky and Kansas.

“We’ve seen INFLCR’s impact on big-time college basketball programs and are very excited to be the first NBA G League team to partner with them in an innovative way that will bring new value to our players and the entire Texas Legends organization,” Farmer said.

“Our organization has continued to invest into a creative staff that is consistently shooting quality content around the Texas Legends day-to-day journey as a team. It just makes sense for us to partner with a content delivery platform like INFLCR to utilize in distributing our content into personalized galleries that live on the phones of our players for them to share to their social media channels, while tracking the impact this content is having both for their brands and the Legends brand on social media.”

INFLCR founder and CEO Jim Cavale said the first NBA G League partnership is a big step in his company’s growth.

“While INFLCR’s origin story began a little over a year ago in big-time college sports, it just makes sense for us to continue to progress into professional sports,” Cavale said. “I am really thankful for the opportunity to start working with teams like the Texas Legends in the NBA G League. The NBA is the best when it comes to branding and especially athlete branding.

They have embraced it and made it something that is at their center. The G League has become something that the NBA has put a lot of resources into as the feeder league into the NBA, and the G League is also great at branding. They are doing a great job with it.”

“This is also a big opportunity because we are working with the same ownership group that owns the Dallas Mavericks, which of course is Mark Cuban. The Texas Legends are a very innovative, forward-thinking organization led by Malcolm Farmer, who is also a vice president for the Mavericks and a guy who has been around the NBA for a long time.”

“We are excited to create a model that we can reproduce throughout the G League, and as we continue to grow, throughout pro sports here in America and abroad.”
