INFLCR, Charlotte 49ers announce digital partnership for all sports

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — Influencer (INFLCR) founder and CEO Jim Cavale announced the signing of the Charlotte 49ers to an athletic department-wide partnership that will raise the 49ers’ brand profile on social media.

“There is a natural alignment between the Charlotte 49ers, a young and emerging brand, and INFLCR, an application built around the power of social media,” said Charlotte Director of Athletics Mike Hill.

“Our agreement with INFLCR is unique and will allow a large number of our student-athletes to engage the platform. This reinforces our role as educators – teaching our student-athletes how to build a positive brand through social media.

“One of our strategic goals is to use all our channels, including social media, to tell the Charlotte 49er story. The INFLCR platform will be a great tool to extend our reach in the social space.”

Upon activation, more than 400 athletes in Charlotte’s 18 varsity sports will begin receiving and sharing thousands of photos and videos produced by the university and delivered in personalized galleries directly to their smartphones.

INFLCR is a software-as-a-service that helps programs like Charlotte partner with their student-athletes, alumni, coaches and other brand ambassadors to share digital content produced by the university via their personal social-media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

Charlotte then can track the audience lift it receives via the much-larger collective audience of those brand ambassadors.

“This is an investment in storytelling and education,” said Charlotte Deputy Athletics Director of External Affairs Chris Fuller. “INFLCR allows all users to easily access our content – graphics, video, etc. – and quickly distribute it via their personal social media channels.”

Cavale said the company is excited to begin work with the 49ers, a program on the rise in Conference USA.

“In the first year of launching the INFLCR platform in the college sports realm, our typical route has been to work with one of the two revenue sports to start,” Cavale said.

“Once we prove out the value of INFLCR through the use case of athletes and coaches sharing content through the INFLCR app and the reach that it is bringing to the institution they represent, we usually can add more sports or in some cases the entire athletic department.

The really cool thing about the Charlotte partnership is the fact that Mike Hill, Chris Fuller and the leadership at Charlotte are actually starting right away with the entire athletic department.

“They believe so much in the mission and vision of our company, in putting the student-athlete first, and ultimately in telling the Charlotte 49er story in association with all of the individual coaches and athletes who represent their brand, that they decided to go all-in from the start. We couldn’t be more excited to work with such an innovative, forward-thinking group.

“What this partnership will do for the city of Charlotte to embrace its hometown college team, along with the opportunity for the 49ers to tell their story and reach more people beyond traditional media, is the big goal of our partnership together.”

Founded in 2017, INFLCR now serves clients from Conference USA, the ACC, SEC, Big Ten, Big 12, American, Mountain West and Sun Belt conferences.
