INFLCR, University of Kansas Basketball announce partnership

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — Influencer (INFLCR) founder and CEO Jim Cavale announced the signing of the University of Kansas men’s basketball program as the company’s first client from the Big 12 Conference.

“The partnership between Kansas Jayhawks Men’s Basketball and INFLCR is an exciting one for us,” said Rachel Pincus, strategic communications coordinator for University of Kansas Athletics.

“Our basketball program is one of rich tradition and storied history and the student-athletes that have and continue to be a part of our legacy carry with them a powerful fan-following based largely in social media.”

“At Kansas, we believe that once you are a Jayhawk, you are a Jayhawk for life. That said, our goal from the day these young men step onto our campus is to help them elevate not only their personal brands but also their impact on the Kansas Basketball brand.

This partnership will enable us to further strengthen the overall growth of our student-athletes and we are eager to see what we can accomplish together.”

KU activated its INFLCR account during the week around their annual Late Night midnight madness event. In this launch with INFLCR, KU players and coaches shared 118 photos and videos that they received through their personalized galleries via the INFLCR mobile app, reaching almost 397,501 people on Instagram and Twitter.

“Kansas athletics ‘gets it’ when it comes to the power of helping its student-athletes grow their personal brands, within the context of the KU Basketball brand,”  Cavale said.

“KU’s desire to be innovative and forward-thinking on social media will do things for their brand reach and recruiting that no traditional media source can provide. This includes serving KU fans with player-driven content on social, that allows them to follow the players and coaches behind-the-scenes throughout the 2018-19 season.”

INFLCR is a software-as-a-service that helps programs like Kansas partner with their student-athletes, alumni, coaches and other brand ambassadors to share digital content produced by the university via their personal social-media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

Kansas then can track the audience lift it receives via the much-larger collective audience of those brand ambassadors.

Founded in 2017, the company now has clients from the Big 12, ACC, SEC, Big Ten, American, Mountain West, Conference USA and Sun Belt conferences.
