Week 1’s best in #SMSports

These 5 social posts were among the best we saw during Week 1 of the college football season.

Each week in INFLCR’s #SMSports newsletter, we’ll call out some of the highlights of social media during the 2018 college football season. Want to nominate something to be showcased? Email tim@3.80.10.35 ….

Here are five items that caught our attention during the extended opening weekend of games.

BYU’s social media team was a machine on Twitter, shooting quick field-level highlights with a smartphone and posting directly to Twitter. It was almost as good as being there for the victory over Arizona.

Good planning and a defensive stand helped Notre Dame take a fun animated shot at Michigan almost immediately after the victory.

INFLCR client Troy didn’t get the result it wanted in one of its biggest home games in recent years, but the showdown against Boise State did result in an awesome interactive presentation. Fans could tag themselves in a 360-degree panorama and also watch the video on the stadium scoreboards.

LSU celebrated 125 years of football with this retrospective 2-minute video before going out and beating Miami.

INFLCR client UAB is really, really good at edits on at Instagram. Mixing highlights, music and effects, the UAB social media team captured the flavor of an opening 52-0 win over Savannah State.
